What data FitSum stores
FitSum stores the data you input directly (workouts, measurements, preferences) and data derived from it (coaching state, progress calculations). This data is stored in your account on FitSum's servers.
Your data is never sold to third parties. See the Privacy Policy for the full legal detail.
Data FitSum stores includes:
- Workout logs (exercises, sets, weights, reps, RPE, GPS routes)
- Body measurements and weight history
- Progress photos
- Training preferences and coaching state
- Activity Points and step history
- Goals and targets
- Gym pass details (member IDs, PINs, card photos)
- Notification and app preferences
- Support & feedback submissions (your messages, any screenshots you attach, and device diagnostics sent with them — see Section 19 — Support & Feedback)
Progress photos and feedback attachments are kept in secure object storage (Cloudflare R2), separate from the main database; the rest of your account data lives in FitSum's database.
Analytics
FitSum collects anonymous usage analytics to understand how features are used and identify issues. This helps improve the app.
What is collected: Feature interactions (e.g. "workout started", "recommendation tapped"), error reports, session duration. This data is anonymous and cannot be linked back to you.
What is not collected: The content of your workouts, your weights, your measurements, your notes, your GPS routes, or any health data.
Opting out: Go to Profile → Data & Privacy → Analytics & Tracking and disable the toggle. When disabled, no analytics events are sent.
Biometric login
If your device supports Face ID, Touch ID, or a fingerprint sensor, you can use it to protect FitSum. Once enabled, the app requires biometric authentication each time it's opened or returns from the background.
Go to Profile → Data & Privacy → Security → Biometric Login to enable this.
Your biometric data is handled entirely by your device's secure hardware — FitSum never receives or stores biometric information.
Exporting your data
You can download a complete export of your FitSum account data at any time.
Go to Profile → Data & Privacy → Export My Data.
Format options:
- JSON — Full structured export, suitable for developers or data processing
- CSV — Spreadsheet-friendly format, suitable for opening in Excel or Google Sheets
The export is generated and delivered as a file download. A progress bar shows the status. The export includes all your personal data.
Data retention
By default, FitSum retains your account data for as long as your account is active. The Data Retention setting under Profile → Data & Privacy shows your current retention policy.
Importing historical workout data
If you have workout history from another app in CSV or text format, you can import it into FitSum. Go to Profile → Data & Privacy → Import Data.
Follow the format instructions shown during import. Imported workouts appear in your history and count toward activity totals.
Deleting your account
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. All data stored in FitSum is deleted — workouts, measurements, preferences, everything. This cannot be undone.
To delete your account:
- Go to Profile → Data & Privacy → Delete My Account.
- The app shows a summary of what will be removed (by category) and runs the deletion.
- Type DELETE in the confirmation field.
- Tap Delete Forever.
Account deletion requires an internet connection. If you're offline, connect and try again.
Your subscription is not automatically cancelled when you delete your account — cancel it separately through the App Store or Google Play.
Changing your password
Tap Profile → Data & Privacy → Change Password to be directed to the password change flow. You'll receive an email to your registered address with a reset link.
Legal & transparency
- Privacy Policy
- Third-party services — analytics provider (Amplitude), crash reporting (Sentry), object storage (Cloudflare R2, used for progress photos, gym pass images, and feedback attachments), the Telegram/Slack admin alert relay for new feedback reports, and payment processors (the App Store / Google Play) — are listed in the Third-Party Services entry under Profile → Data & Privacy → Legal & Transparency.
Your personal data is processed in accordance with GDPR (if you are based in the European Union or UK) and applicable data protection law in other regions.
