Progress & Tracking
On this page
The Progress tab
The Progress tab is divided into four sub-tabs: Activity, Goals, Charts, and Body.
Switch between sub-tabs by tapping the labels at the top of the screen.
Activity sub-tab
Shows your Activity Points history across the current week, with the weekly ring and a day-by-day breakdown.
- Weekly Points total and ring completion
- Day-by-day breakdown
- Step count for the current day
- Active calories for the current day
Steps and calories cards only appear if you've switched those on in your preferences. Pull to refresh to sync the latest health platform data.
Goals sub-tab
Shows how your training is distributed across your fitness areas. A radial chart compares each area's target allocation against your actual progress, with a list of your individual fitness targets below it. Completing or reaching goals also surfaces achievements at the bottom of the tab.
Goals are based on your archetype and training preferences. Tap a fitness target to edit or star it; tap the share icon on the chart to export it as an image.
Charts sub-tab (Premium: full history)
Charts is a single configurable chart you tailor to what you want to see. Pick a data type (an exercise, a body measurement, or a workout stat), a calculation, an aggregation, and a date range — for example, plot your bench-press best weight over time, or chart the Volume Load Ratio (acute vs chronic load) as a workout stat.
Free tier: the most recent 30 days of history. Premium: longer ranges (90 days, 1 year, and all-time) with no time limit.
Tap the expand icon to view a chart full screen. Tap the share icon (📤) to export a chart as an image.
Body sub-tab
The Body sub-tab consolidates progress photos, body composition, cardio fitness, and body measurements in one place. Cards appear in that order: Progress Photos, Body Composition, Cardio & Fitness, and Body Measurements.
Progress Photos (Partial premium)
Store photos linked to a date and optionally a weight and notes. Photos are stored securely on your device and in your private account — they are never used for advertising or shared externally.
Free tier: Photos from the last 2 weeks only. Premium: Unlimited photo history.
Tap the + button on the Progress Photos card to add a new photo. Tap any photo to open it full screen. Use the comparison view to place two photos side by side.
Body Composition card
Displays weight history as a chart. If you've logged height and weight, the app also calculates your BMI. A notable change in recorded body weight can also prompt a BMI coaching card on the Workout screen (see 4.7).
Tap Add weight to log today's weight. Tap More to see the full weight history.
Cardio & Fitness card
Shows your logged VO2max if you've recorded one, alongside other cardio-related measurements. Add a reading when you run an estimation test; the card displays the most recent value.
Body Measurements card
Tracks body measurements (waist, hip, chest, arms, etc.) over time. Tap a measurement type to see its history chart and add a new entry.
Free tier: Last 30 days of measurement history. Premium: Full history and ability to create custom measurement types.
Exercise history
Every exercise has a history of every set you've ever logged for it. Access it by tapping an exercise in the Plan tab and scrolling to the history section.
Free tier: Last 14 days of exercise history per exercise. Premium: Full history with no time limit.
The history chart shows your best performance per session (max weight or equivalent) as a trend line. Personal bests are highlighted on the chart and in the session list.
Personal bests (PBs)
FitSum tracks PBs automatically for supported exercises. A PB is recorded when you exceed your previous best for a given tracking metric.
- Weight-based exercises — Heaviest weight lifted (across any reps)
- Reps-in-Time exercises — Most reps within the fixed time window
- Duration exercises — Longest duration
- Distance and Pace/Distance exercises — Greatest distance
PB badges appear on the workout detail screen and in exercise history. You can turn personal-bests tracking on or off in Profile → Preferences.
Sharing progress
Tap the share icon on a chart to export it as an image. The exported image includes the FitSum branding and chart title but not any personal identifying information.
This works on the configurable Charts sub-tab and on the fitness-area chart in the Goals sub-tab.
